Classroom tour
Welcome to my latest classroom redo. I love the black, white, and burlap color scheme. It matches every season and, with the exception of certain things, you don't need a color printer to make it look polished and clean.
Interactive Focus Wall
The Wonders unit focus cards are on rings so that they can be flipped with every new unit. The "kid" posters were a download from Falling Into First. I LOVE them! They are laminated making it super easy to change the focus every week. I just write on them with a wipe off pen! Click on the picture grab yours from TpT.
The black pocket charts below for our weekly spelling and high frequency words make it doubly easy to switch out the cards each week.

Vocabulary Focus Wall
Each week our reading program has a set of eight vocabulary words. Using T-pins hanging from binder clamps, I clip each card up for the kids to reference back to throughout the week.

Math Focus Wall
Our math focus wall is an interactive part of our daily math talks. I use this wall throughout the year adding new concepts, posters, and components to the wall as they are introduced in our district's math program. As the year progresses, I let my teacher's helper and a buddy update the math wall and explain the changes to the wall to the students in class.

Classroom Job Board
I love my interactive job board. I use popsicle sticks to change my students' jobs each week. The pockets are library book pockets that I bought and laminated from Office Depot.

Daily Schedule
I never realized how much my students depended on having a scheduled they could refer to until I took mine down. Here is my new classroom schedule board. The schedule cards were a free editable download. The cards even have a clock on them that you can draw hands on with a wipe off pen. The clock next to the schedule has also really helped my kids to learn how to tell time and figure out how much longer they have until the next activity. Yay for time management!

Synonym Wall
There is nothing more frustrating to a teacher than still hearing and reading "mad, sad, and good" from your kids. These synonym cards have made all the difference! My kids love finding new "grown up" ways to say words and seeing how many different words they can use in their writing.

Writing Center
In my classroom, organization is the key to staying sane. It also helps my kids to know where to find the materials they need throughout the day. Bonus...the student bulletin board has wooden clothes pins behind each name making it super easy to swap out student writing.
