I began this school year just like I do every school year...by devouring blog after blog in hopes of discovering how other teachers seem to manage the impossible feat of planning, preparing and implementing amazing lessons while being able to still have a life outside of school. (Something I haven't been able to do myself in over a decade of teaching!)
After hours of reading some of my favorite teacher blogs and scouring Pinterest, the answer for me seems to be Interactive Focus Walls...easily changeable walls that highlight your teaching focus for the week. Sounds simple, right? I mean...why didn't I think of this years ago? Well, the answer seems to be that I forgot the cardinal rule of life...WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER! So after a month of researching and planning, it was finally time to put my plan into action. It took a couple of weeks and more trips to Lakeshore and the Dollar Store than I care to admit to and here are the results! |
About Me...I am wife, mother, teacher, instruction coach, curriculum writer, educational blogger, and self-professed workaholic. After years of spending long nights and weekends in my classroom I have decided that there has to be a better way. This is my journey in trying to find a balance for myself, my family, my students and for other perfectionist teachers out there like me. ArchivesCategoriesDON'T MISS OUT... |
